Sunny, with a few clouds.
2. What is your favorite sound?
Waves crashing, rain dropping, cats purring...
3. What is the worst flavor of ice cream?
Anything with coconut in it, or raisins - YUCK!
4. What magazine do you look for when you are stuck in the waiting room?
Either some trashy tabloid or teen magazine, I'll deal with seriousness when the bill comes!
5. What is your favorite condiment?
It's a tie, hot sauce and ketchup, I love them both!
The quote, "Do one thing every day that scares you" was first presented to me in the popular 1998 song, "Everyone's Free (To Wear Sunscreen)" by Baz Luhrmann. While true origin of the quote is debatable, I've found that this saying has stuck with me as a personal motto (most days) and I frequently pass it on as advice to other people. This blog is my attempt to capture and chronicle "the one thing every day that scares me" in 2011.

Day 303 - Zzzz...
Today, I'm taking a nap. A few of them, actually. I really need to catch up on my sleep, or lack there of, from the past week! Between two jobs, a class (much loved), and outing with friends (much needed) I am drained. I'm giving myself permission to snooze and re-coupe and not let the self induced belief that lack of physical accomplishment equates to laziness. About to snuggle up with my ghost-pillow, cat and Cubs blanket for some serious snoozin. See ya tomorrow.

Day 302 - Biter
Today I faced a dog who recently bit another trainer. As we are in the business of not getting bitten, this was quite a scary thing for me. We as trainers make it our number one priority to read a dog's body language and avoid being bitten by respecting what the dog is telling us. So, when a trainer who is 5 times more experienced then I am (literally) gets bitten by an unpredictable dog, it doesn't leave me and my lack of experience feeling very positive for the day's unfolding.
I did my best to put on a brave face for my class and the Biter, and hoped no one would see my fear. I worked dilligently to read the Biter's body language, hoping my fate would not be the same as the previous trainer's. I even, begrudgingly, took the Biter to use as a demo-dog and worked through what I believe was some of his anxiety. By the end of the class, despite some challenging dog reactive behavior, I remained unscathed. I rewarded the Biter for all of it's hard work, and sent him and his family on their way for another week of in-home practice. As they walked away, I watched the Biter chomp down twice on a stranger's hand and wondered if my bite prevention was skill or luck.

Day 301 - B-Rob63
I have a new blogger friend that I think you should check out at "Seeking My Own Quiet Place". You might ask why I'm mentioning him and his blog here? Well for one, I remember what it was like to be brand new to the blogging world (so please stop by and make him feel welcome!) and secondly, I'm stealing his topic for today's 301st post!
What do I think happiness is?
I don't know that I believe happiness is just one thing, or maybe it is to some? But I think happiness is an energy to be shared and a journey to be lived, definitely not a destination. I think happiness is in the little moments that make up one big life. I think happiness can be a gaze upon a cloud or the look of your loved one on your shared special day. Happiness is a contagious thing, that I know for sure. Happiness is a curing thing as well. Happiness comes in many sizes and forms, and like beauty, is in the eye of it's beholder. People waiting on happiness, I should think, would hardly ever find it as I believe happiness is something you make, share, and most of all, participate in and appreciate in the daily practice of life.
What do you think happiness is?

Day 300 - Wow!
I can't believe this is my 300th post! While I was looking for one of my favorite Eleanor Roosevelt quotes which states...
"...You must do the thing you think you cannot do."
I also found this one...
"One thing life has taught me: if you are interested, you never have to look for new interests. They come to you. When you are genuinely interested in one thing, it will always lead to something else."
I can't believe how true both of the quotes above are for me! Writing this blog and tackling some of the obstacles written about have seemed insurmountable at times, and as I look back and review some of my writings I ask myself, "How did I do that?". It's amazing not only how I've tackled the things I thought I couldn't (like climbing up a skyscrapers, raising over $1,000 for a charity event, and partaking in my first ever Mud Run) but how my general interest in life expands, and allows new opportunities to find me.
So often I've told my friends that this blog and the events held within it have seemed to magically snowball and lead me to new paths and ideas. Eleanor Roosevelt's quote couldn't have summed it up any more perfectly! What have you accomplished that you thought you could not do?

Day 299 - Mad
It's very easy to get mad, and while I try not to waste too much time on that emotion, the hardest thing I find about being mad, is telling whoever it is that made me mad, why I'm mad! But I did it. And all was right with the world again.

Day 298 - Interpretation
I had a dream about bones this morning. And no, that's not a code name for anything. I literally dreamt I had a broken bone and then decided to extract it from myself. Once extracted, there was a small show of blood, but the bone was in one piece and not broken at all. It did seem pretty damaged, however. While the dream itself was pretty darn odd and kinda scary, I was more afraid to tell anyone about it (so of course I blog about it?), and even more afraid to look up what it meant. According to numerous "dream interpretation" websites, the elements in my dream can signify...
Bones: This dream means that you need to think about what you have, what you want, and then focus on stripping it all back to just focus on what makes you happy....(How true!!!)
Damage: Damage can mean anger and resentment... (I'd say I'm angry about some recent changes in my life!)
Blood: To loose blood can signify loss of love. (Umm, yeah...)
Odd how we can dream of seemingly such random things, and yet, years of studies that interpret what they mean seem so accurate (or at least in my case). Dream interpretation dates back to at least 5000BC, and seems to have not weakened in it's fascination for us humans. It's amazing what our subconscious communicates to us in our sleep, isn't it? With that said, I ask you, what do your dreams say about you?
