The quote, "Do one thing every day that scares you" was first presented to me in the popular 1998 song, "Everyone's Free (To Wear Sunscreen)" by Baz Luhrmann. While true origin of the quote is debatable, I've found that this saying has stuck with me as a personal motto (most days) and I frequently pass it on as advice to other people. This blog is my attempt to capture and chronicle "the one thing every day that scares me" in 2011.

Day 196 - Mud
Okay, this should count for two scary things, because I am freaked out that I signed up for this, but so excited! The August non-competitive 5K course includes 11 military obstacles that include, but are not limited to, a water pit, wall climb, cargo net climb, and of course, a mud pit! I am grateful I was able to register for this event as the Wisconsin event was initially full, but had additional last minute openings today. As usual, wish me luck and... I see a lot of upper-body weight training in my future!
